Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges tightly.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
Fry each pie until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer fried pies to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve warm with sour cream or yogurt on the side.
