Sazon Rice

2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 medium yellow bell pepper
1 medium white onion
3 cloves minced garlic
1 bouillon cube
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup parsley

Rinse parboiled rice in a strainer under water several times until the water runs clear.

In a pot, heat canola oil and unsalted butter over medium heat.

Add chopped yellow bell pepper and finely minced white onion; sauté until fragrant.

Stir in minced fresh garlic and cook for about 1 minute without browning.

Add the sazon seasoning and toast it with the garlic and vegetables for about 1 minute.

Pour in water and add a bouillon cube; stir to combine.

Taste the liquid to check for saltiness before adding rice; add freshly ground pepper.

Remove the cover and fluff the rice with a fork; then cover the pot again without heat for 5-7 minutes to let steam complete the cooking.
