Ginger Beef

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup beef broth
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, chopped for garnish

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.

Return the beef to the skillet and add the soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.

Serve hot over rice or noodles.
