Warm the milk to about 37°C (98.6°F).
Add the yeast and sugar to the warm milk and stir to dissolve.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, olive oil, and salt.
Knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
Form the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl, covering it with a damp cloth.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until doubled in size.
Prepare the filling by grating the cheese and chopping the bell pepper and ham.
Mix the cheese, bell pepper, and ham together in a Thermomix or by hand.
Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 40 x 20 cm.
Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
Roll the dough from one long side to the other to form a log.
Place the rolled dough seam-side down on a baking sheet.
Cut the dough at intervals of about 4 cm without cutting all the way through.
Twist the cut sections to create a decorative shape.
Brush the dough with milk or water before baking.
Let the dough rise for another 15 minutes before baking.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 30 minutes.
