Today, it remains a beloved staple in British culture, often enjoyed on weekends or special occasions, and has inspired variations around the globe, including adaptations in cafes and restaurants.

Soak kidney beans in water for 8 hours to soften them.
In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium to low flame.
Add ginger and garlic paste, then finely chopped onions, cooking until translucent.
Stir in 3 cups of tomato puree and bring to a boil.
Add 2 tbsps of ketchup, 1 tbsp of malt vinegar, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1.5 tbsps of honey, chili flakes, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper.
Pour the sauce over the soaked kidney beans in a heatproof glass dish.
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Grate potatoes using the larger part of the grater and soak them in water to prevent oxidation.
Drain the grated potatoes and absorb moisture with a clean tissue cloth, letting them sit for 2 minutes.
In a bowl, whisk 2 eggs and mix in salt and crushed black pepper.
Combine the dry potatoes with the egg mixture, adjusting with flour or more egg if necessary.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium flame and form the potato mixture into shapes, frying until golden brown.
Cook mushrooms in a pan with a little oil and butter, adding chopped thyme, salt, and pepper until they shrink in size.
Deglaze the mushroom pan with a tsp of vinegar.
In a separate pan, heat oil and cook the sausages until browned, using pork frankfurters as a substitute.
Cook bacon in a pan until pink on both sides and shrunk in size.
Grill a tomato until softened.
