Combine 1.5 tablespoons of yeast and 1/4 cup of sugar in 2 cups of very hot water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
Add 6 cups of bread flour and 1 teaspoon of salt to the yeast mixture.
Incorporate 1/2 stick of melted butter into the mixture and stir until combined.
Knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minutes, adjusting with water or flour as needed.
Fold in 1 cup of raisins, 1 cup of cranberries, and 1 cup of chopped walnuts by hand.
Form the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size.
Shape the risen dough into logs and place them on a tray to rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the loaves for 35 minutes until golden brown.
