Ingredients
- ●4 slices whole grain bread
- ●4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ●1 red bell pepper, sliced
- ●1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- ●1/2 tsp garlic powder
- ●1/2 tsp black pepper
- ●1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (optional)
- ●1 tbsp olive oil (for grilling)
Instructions
- 1Spread cream cheese evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- 2Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper over the cream cheese on each slice.
- 3Layer the sliced red and yellow bell peppers on two of the slices, on top of the cream cheese.
- 4If using, sprinkle chopped chives over the bell peppers.
- 5Top with the remaining slices of bread, cream cheese side down, to form sandwiches.
- 6Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- 7Grill the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cream cheese is warm.
- 8Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
- 9Serve immediately.

- ●Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- 1Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
- 2In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
- 3Dip each slice of flattened bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
- 4Place a tablespoon of your choice of filling (like cream cheese or fruit) at one end of the bread slice.
- 5Roll the bread tightly around the filling and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
- 6In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- 7Add the rolled-up bread to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 8Remove from skillet and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon if desired.
- 9Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- 10Serve warm with maple syrup.

- 7Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- 8Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 9Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
- 10Serve immediately.
