North Macedonian Bread with Ajvar

400-500ml water

½ coffee spoon sugar

Dissolve the yeast in 100 ml warm water, add the salt and sugar, plus add 2 spoons flour. Mix all the ingredients in a small glass bowl. Leave it for 10-15 minutes.

Put the flour in a large bowl for kneading, make a hole in the middle, and add the yeast mixture prepared earlier.

Start kneading the dough with warm water, adjusting the quantity to achieve a soft and moistened dough.

Leave the dough to rise for about 40 minutes, knead again, and shape into desired size and quantity.

Warm the baking tray, sprinkle some flour or a little oil on it, arrange the bread on the tray, and leave to rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake for 45 minutes, covering with a towel after baking to soften.

Cut the bread into slices and spread ajvar on top.
