- 6Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 5-6 times.
- 7Pat the dough into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.
- 8Cut out biscuits using a floured cutter, pressing straight down without twisting.
- 9Place the biscuits on a baking sheet, close together for soft sides or spaced apart for crisp edges.
- 10Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- 11Remove from oven and brush the tops with melted butter if desired.
- 12Serve warm with butter or jam.
