Ground almonds add a nutty flavor while being gluten-free.

Preheat oven to broil.

Melt 4 oz of butter in a saucepan with plenty of finely chopped California garlic, simmering for 7 minutes without browning the garlic.

Add granulated onion and black pepper to the garlic butter mixture after 7 minutes.

Place the mixture into a ramkin and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to cool.

Scoop a small spoonful of the cooled garlic butter mixture into each ramkin.

Generously sprinkle Romano cheese over the garlic butter mixture in each ramkin.

Place the ramkin in the oven and broil for 5 minutes until cooked.

Remove from the oven and serve hot.
