Peel the stem of the broccoli and chop it into the salad.

Grate one large carrot.

Thinly slice a small purple onion.

Chop an apple.

Put all chopped ingredients into a large salad bowl.

Add half a cup of toasted pecans and half a cup of dried cranberries to the bowl.

In a separate bowl, whisk together half a cup of mayo, half a cup of sour cream, and two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.

Season the dressing with half a tablespoon of sugar, a quarter teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of black pepper.

Once the dressing is creamy and smooth, pour it over the salad.
