Buttermilk Bread

Buttermilk bread has its roots in American home baking, particularly in the Southern states where buttermilk is a staple ingredient. Traditionally, it was made to use up leftover buttermilk from butter churning, resulting in a moist and tender loaf. Today, this bread is cherished for its rich flavor and soft texture, often enjoyed fresh or toasted, and has found its way into kitchens across the country.
In a bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of water, 4 teaspoons of yeast, and 1/4 cup of sugar.
Add 6 tablespoons of softened butter to the mixture.
Incorporate 1/2 cup of buttermilk powder and 2 tablespoons of butter powder.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
Stir in 1 cup of semolina flour followed by 6 cups of all-purpose flour, adding the last cup gradually to adjust for moisture.
Mix the dough using a stand mixer with a dough hook, assessing the texture and adding more flour if necessary.
Knead the dough for 7 minutes until it is soft and not sticking to the bowl.
Spray the inside of a bowl with oil and place the dough inside, covering it to prevent drying out. Let it rise for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, deflate the dough and shape it for two loaves, weighing the dough if necessary to ensure even portions.
Prepare a standard 9x5 bread pan by spraying it with oil, then shape the dough and place it in the pan.
