Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. 2Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. 3Layer each with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese.
  4. 4Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
  5. 5Cook until the bread is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
  6. 6In a separate pot, combine the tomato soup, water, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. 7Heat the soup over medium heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.
  8. 8Once the sandwiches are done, remove from the skillet and cut in half.
  9. 9Serve the hot ham and cheese sandwiches with a bowl of tomato soup for dipping.

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. 3Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  4. 4Stir in diced carrots, cooking for about 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. 5Add cooked lentils, frozen peas, and corn to the skillet, mixing well.
  6. 6Season the mixture with thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. 7Transfer the lentil mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. 8Top the lentil mixture with mashed potatoes, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  9. 9Use a fork to create texture on the mashed potatoes for a crispy top.
  10. 10Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  11. 11Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
