1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon table salt
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon pure maple extract

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup of water.

Add 1 cup of white sugar and 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar to the water and stir until dissolved.

Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of table salt and 1/8 teaspoon of cream of tartar, then stir until well blended.

Bring the mixture to a light boil and cook for 8 minutes until it thickens.

Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, stirring until melted.

Add 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of pure maple extract, stirring until well incorporated.
