Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and optional onion to the mushrooms.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the onions, garlic, and mushrooms.

Season with salt and black pepper and fry for about 4 minutes until cooked.

Prepare 4 slices of bread for two sandwiches by brushing melted butter on one side of each slice.
