Bake your ham as normal, adding 1 cup of chicken stock to the roasting pan while it cooks.
Pour the ham flavored juices into a measuring cup and add more stock to make a total of 2 cups of liquid.
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in 3 tablespoons of flour to make a smooth paste (roux).
Cook the roux while stirring until it starts to turn a bit browner.
Add the 2 cups of liquid to the roux, stirring continuously to keep it smooth.
Bring the mixture up to a simmer while stirring often to prevent burning on the bottom.
Stir in 1/4 cup of cream.
