1 cup rice
2 cups water
1/4 cup oil
1 clove garlic
3-4 sprigs of hierbabuena (mint)
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 onion
salt to taste
1/2 lemon (optional)

Wash the caldero (pot) thoroughly to remove any factory residues.

Heat the caldero on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.

Add oil to the heated caldero and coat the inside with a brush.

Also coat the lid with hot oil to seal it.

After 5 minutes, turn off the heat and clean the excess oil from the caldero.

Chop the garlic, hierbabuena, green bell pepper, and onion into small pieces.

Wash 1 cup of rice to remove the starch.

Heat the caldero again and add 1/4 cup of oil.

Add the chopped onion, garlic, and hierbabuena to the oil and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the washed rice to the sautéed mixture and fry until the rice is slightly translucent, about 1-5 minutes.

Pour in 2 cups of water and adjust if necessary.

Add salt to taste and the juice of 1/2 lemon for whiteness (optional).

Cover and let the rice cook for approximately 15-20 minutes.

Check the rice after 15 minutes to see if it's done and not burnt.
