Traditionally baked in wood-fired ovens, this bread symbolizes community and hospitality, often served alongside meals or enjoyed with olive oil. Today, it remains a beloved part of Greek cuisine, with variations found in many Mediterranean countries, reflecting local ingredients and baking traditions.

Nuts provide healthy fats and protein.
Mix 450 grams of strong bread flour and 150 grams of wholemeal flour in a bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the flour mixture.
Add 15 grams (2 packets) of yeast to the mixture.
Create a well in the center and pour in 350 ml of warm milk.
Add 1 dessert spoon of honey to the mixture.
Add 2 tablespoons of rapeseed oil to the mixture.
Mix the ingredients together with a wooden spoon until combined.
Use a dough hook to knead the dough for 7 minutes.
Cover the bowl with a shower cap or towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1.5 hours.
After rising, knock the air out of the dough and shape it into a ball.
Place the shaped dough onto a baking tray and cover with a tea towel for its final rise.
Preheat the oven to 220-230°C (425°F).
Let the dough rise for about 25-30 minutes before baking.
Bake the bread for about 25 minutes, checking for doneness.
