Preheat the smoker to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Season the chicken breasts with a light layer of chicken rub.
Finish seasoning with a layer of sweet rub.
Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the smoker.
Close the lid and flip the chicken after 15 minutes.
Check the internal temperature at the 30-minute mark.
Once the chicken reaches 150 degrees Fahrenheit, baste with barbecue sauce.
Continue cooking until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once at 160 degrees, remove the chicken from the smoker and place it on a plate with a lip.
Cover the plate tightly with foil to hold in moisture and allow carryover cooking for 5 to 10 minutes.
After resting, slice into the chicken to check for juiciness and tenderness.
