Nutritional yeast is dairy-free and adds a cheesy flavor.
Combine 1 cup of warm water, 3 tablespoons of instant yeast, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar in a bowl.
Add 5 cups of all-purpose flour and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Transfer the dough to a large bowl and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Divide the dough into two parts and form two balls for the bread bowls, taking small pieces for holders.
Preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C).
Let the dough rise again for 15-20 minutes while the oven preheats.
Bake the bread bowls for about 25-30 minutes until the skin is brown.
Once cooled, cut the tops off the bread and hollow out the insides using a spoon.
Brush the inside of the bowls with egg white to prevent leaking when filled with soup or goulash.
Bake the hollowed bowls for an additional 20 minutes.
