Pot roast, a classic American comfort food, has its roots in the European tradition of braising tougher cuts of meat to create tender, flavorful dishes. Often associated with family gatherings and Sunday dinners, this dish showcases the beauty of slow cooking. Today, variations abound, with many families adding their own unique twists, making pot roast a beloved staple in homes across the country.

beef broth

beef chuck roast

Pork shoulder provides similar texture at a lower cost.
Wash the beef chuck roast with lemon, cold water, and vinegar.
Cut the beef into smaller pieces for easier handling.
Season the beef with paprika, fish and meat sauce, browning sauce or soya sauce, maggi seasoning, adobo all-purpose seasoning, and black pepper.
Add a tablespoon of homemade green seasoning and mix well to coat the meat.
Let the beef marinate for about 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Heat a high-end skillet and spray it with cooking spray, then add a piece of butter and let it melt.
Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned, adding crushed garlic and thyme during cooking.
After browning, pour in the cooking liquid from the beef and cover to let it cook down for about 45 minutes.
Add 2 cups of water to the skillet after 45 minutes of cooking.
Add chopped carrots, potatoes, and rosemary to the skillet, then pour in half a bottle of red cooking wine.
Cover and let simmer for about 30 minutes on low heat until the beef is tender.
Check the beef and pull it apart with a fork, then let it cook for another 30 minutes if not fully tender.
