300g shredded ham

Chop up 1 leek, 2 carrots, and 1 onion to form the base of the soup.

Remove the fat from 2 rashers of smoked bacon and chop it up.

Fry the chopped vegetables and bacon for about 5 minutes.

Add in the ham stock cube and green peas (straight from the freezer).

Add 300g of shredded ham (smoked or unsmoked) and thyme leaves.

Season the mixture and stir it well.

Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover with a lid, and let it cook for about 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, remove the thyme leaves and blend the soup with a stick blender.

Plate the soup and garnish with some peas and ham.
