Wash the cucumbers and trim off both ends.
Cut cucumbers into 1.5-inch sections and quarter each piece lengthwise.
Place all cucumber pieces into a mixing bowl.
Add 1 tsp salt and mix well. Let sit for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, drain the excess liquid.
Rinse the cucumbers with drinking water to remove the salt.
Mince garlic and chili, and add to the cucumbers.
Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon.
Add 1 tbsp of sugar.
Mix everything until well combined.
Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours to marinate.
Plate and serve.
