1/2 cup thin egg noodles
2 cups brown rice (Jasmine or Basmati)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 vegetable bouillon cube
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon butter (optional)
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
1/4 teaspoon za'atar (for garnish)

Warm a 24-quart pot on low heat.

Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the pot.

Add 1/2 cup of thin egg noodles to the pot and brown them on low heat, stirring frequently to ensure even browning.

Once the noodles are lightly browned, carefully add 4 cups of water to the pot.

Add 1 vegetable bouillon cube to the water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add 2 cups of brown rice, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

Stir the rice and cover the pot.

Let the rice cook on low heat for about 45 minutes, stirring every 15-20 minutes to ensure even cooking.

If desired, add 1 teaspoon of butter during cooking for extra flavor.

Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and check that the noodles are tender.
