Walnuts provide healthy fats while sunflower seeds are more affordable.

Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them well.

Toast the almonds in a skillet with a little oil or butter spray for 2-3 minutes until golden.

Prepare a bowl with cold water and ice to cool the green beans after blanching.

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the green beans, cooking for about 6-7 minutes until tender.

Immediately transfer the green beans to the ice water to stop the cooking process.

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.

Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss them in the butter.

Add the toasted almonds and the juice of half a lemon, mixing well.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste and serve.
