Danish Pickles

Cultural Context

Danish pickles, or 'syltede agurker', are a staple in Danish cuisine, often accompanying smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches). They reflect the tradition of preserving vegetables to enjoy year-round. Today, these tangy, sweet pickles are popular not just in Denmark but also in various Nordic-inspired dishes worldwide.
