Warm up the evaporated milk in a pot.
Add sugar and salt to the warm milk and mix until well combined.
Add anise seeds and butter to the mixture and stir.
Once the milk starts to steam, set it aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal and 2 eggs, mixing until combined.
Gradually add the warm milk to the cornmeal mixture, tempering the eggs by adding it little by little.
Let the dough rest for 5 to 10 minutes while heating the frying oil.
Shape the dough into desired shapes directly in the hot oil, or shape by hand before placing in the oil.
Fry on medium-low flame until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
