German Nut Bread

German Nut Bread, or 'Nussbrot', has its roots in the rich baking traditions of Germany, where bread is a staple of daily life. This hearty loaf is often enjoyed during festive occasions and family gatherings, symbolizing warmth and togetherness. Today, variations of nut bread can be found in bakeries around the world, reflecting local ingredients and tastes.
Whisk together soft butter, warm milk (100 milliliters), egg, yeast, flour, salt, and 30 grams of sugar.
Leave the mixture to swell for 30 minutes.
In a saucepan, bring milk, sugar, and cinnamon to a boil.
Pour the chopped nuts into the mixture, mix everything, and cool it.
Knead the flour mixture into dough and roll it out into a rectangular shape.
Brush the top with the nut filling.
Cut the dough in half lengthwise without cutting one end and braid it into a braid.
Leave the product to rise for 30 minutes under a towel at room temperature.
Bake the bread for 35 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.
Bring water with powdered sugar to a boil for the filling.
Lubricate the finished bread with the filling.
Serve the German bread warm or cold, cut into pieces.
