Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
Toast 1.5 cups of chopped pecans on a parchment-lined sheet pan for 5 minutes.
In a bowl, combine 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, and 1/8 cup cocoa powder.
Cut in 6 tablespoons of cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender.
Press the mixture into the bottom of an 8x8 square pan lined with parchment paper.
Bake the crust for 15 minutes.
Sprinkle 3/4 cup chocolate chips over the crust and let sit for 30 minutes to melt.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 small eggs.
Add brown sugar and corn syrup (between 1/3 and 1/2 cup each) to the eggs and mix well.
Add the toasted pecans and 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut to the mixture.
Pour the pecan mixture over the melted chocolate chips on the crust.
Bake for 28 to 34 minutes at 350°F (177°C) until just set.
Cool for about an hour before cutting into bars.
