Measure out about a third of a cup of slivered almonds and roast them in a pan.

Take about a quart of strawberries and dice them up fairly small.

Toss the diced strawberries into a large bowl with the spinach leaves.

Add the cucumber pieces to the bowl with the strawberries and spinach.

In a screw top jar, combine a third of a cup of sugar, the juice of a half a lemon, about a teaspoon of poppy seeds, two tablespoons of white wine vinegar, and a tablespoon of oil.

Shake the jar to mix the dressing ingredients until dissolved.

Add the toasted almonds to the salad and mix gently.
