Purple Potato Causitas

Cultural Context

Originating from Peru, causitas are a vibrant dish that showcases the country's love for potatoes, particularly the striking purple variety. Traditionally served as a cold appetizer or main course, they reflect the fusion of indigenous ingredients and culinary influences from Spanish colonization. Today, causitas are celebrated not only in Peru but also in various Latin American countries, often featuring creative fillings and presentations.
