Whole wheat flour adds fiber.
Get a large mixing bowl.
Add 440 g (3 cups) of bread flour to the bowl and whisk to remove lumps.
Add 1 tablespoon of instant or fast action yeast and 1 teaspoon of cooking salt to the flour and whisk to combine.
Add 330 ml (1 and 1/2 cups) of very warm water (not boiling) to the dry ingredients.
Mix the water with the dry ingredients using the handle of a spoon until there is no visible flour.
Check the dough consistency; it should be sticky. If too wet, add a small amount of flour; if too dry, add a small amount of water.
Cover the bowl with a tea towel and let it proof for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size and wobbly like jelly.
Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F) for fan ovens, 250°C for conventional ovens, or gas mark 9.
Flour your surface well and remove the dough from the bowl, placing it on the floured surface.
Shape the dough roughly to make it easier to cut into portions.
Using a dough cutter or plate, mark out six equal sections and cut the dough into six portions.
Flour your hands and shape each portion into a ball by pulling the sides to the back and pinching the dough.
Place the shaped rolls onto baking paper, arranging them around a center roll.
Cover the rolls with a towel and let them prove for another 15 minutes.
Place a large ovenproof pot (or Dutch oven) into the preheated oven for 15 minutes to heat up.
Carefully transfer the dough into the hot pot using the edges of the baking paper, ensuring it doesn't stick to the sides.
Cover the pot with a lid and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes, checking regularly to prevent burning.
Remove from the oven when golden brown and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
