1 tablespoon sea salt
4 cups water

Pluck the edamame pods off the stems or use scissors to cut the tips of the pods off.

Add a splash of water to the edamame and a handful of sea salt to use as an abrasive.

Rub the pods in salt to remove fine hairs.

Wash the edamame in cold water to remove the hairs.

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add enough sea salt to make the water taste like the ocean.

Add the edamame to the boiling water and let it boil for about 6 to 9 minutes, depending on the size of the beans.

Check the edamame after 6 minutes; they should release their beans when bitten but not be too soft.

Drain the edamame and sprinkle more sea salt on the outside of the pods while still hot.
