Prepare 500 g of small octopus.
Slice a large red onion and chop garlic into medium pieces.
Cut cherry tomatoes in half or quarters depending on size.
Cut a couple of potatoes into small pieces, leaving the skin on.
Heat olive oil in a large pot and add the chopped vegetables.
Add the octopus to the pot and increase the heat.
Pour in 2 cups of water and add 2 cups of tomato paste.
Season with black pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, and basil.
Stir everything to blend the flavors.
Cover and cook for about 20-25 minutes, then remove the lid to let the liquid evaporate.
Cook for about 40 minutes until the stew thickens and the octopus is tender.
