Add ground beef to the skillet and break it up with a wooden spoon; cook for about 5 to 6 minutes until mostly cooked through.

Add finely chopped onion to the beef and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes until the onion is cooked down.

Season the mixture with salt.

Add water, tomato sauce, spices, and cornstarch to the skillet; mix well and let simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Prepare taco shells according to preference (hard or soft).

Serve the taco filling in the shells and top with shredded lettuce, black bean salsa, guacamole, shredded cheddar, and sour cream.
