Heat vegetable oil (or a mix of butter and oil) in a small pan on high heat.
Add the mytia pieces, cardamom, and bay leaf to the pan and let them melt.
Add the vermicelli pasta to the pan and stir until it gets a nice golden color.
Add the washed white rice and salt to the pan and stir them together for about a minute.
Pour in the boiled water and let it boil until the rice absorbs most of the water.
Lower the heat to the lowest setting and cover the pan.
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the type of rice.
Before turning off the heat, give it a stir to prevent sticking.
