1 kilo chicken pieces with bone
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp curd
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
4 tbsp oil
few pieces of cinnamon
few cloves
few cardamom pods
3 medium sized onions, roughly chopped
4 green chilies, slit
few curry leaves
2 medium sized tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp coriander powder
freshly chopped coriander leaves

Wash the chicken pieces nice and clean.

Add 1 kilo of chicken pieces to a mixing bowl.

Add 1 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp of salt, and 2 tbsp of curd to the chicken.

Mix everything well so all the pieces are well coated with the marinade.

Rub the marinade into the chicken pieces.

Let the chicken marinate for about 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, add the marinated chicken pieces to a pan.

Cook the chicken in its own juices on medium flame, tossing the pieces at intervals.

After 5 minutes, add 2 tsp of ginger-garlic paste to the chicken and mix well.

Close the pan and cook the chicken for about 10 minutes on medium flame.

After 10 minutes, turn off the stove and keep the chicken aside.

In another pan, add 4 tbsp of oil and heat it up.

Once the oil is heated, add a few pieces of cinnamon, a few cloves, and a few cardamom pods to roast the spices.

Next, add 3 medium sized onions, roughly chopped, to the pan.

Add 4 slit green chilies and a few curry leaves to the onions.

Saute the onions until they turn golden brown.

Once the onions are golden brown, add 2 medium sized tomatoes, roughly chopped, to the pan.

After 2 to 3 minutes, gently transfer the cooked chicken pieces into this pan and mix everything well.

Add 1 tsp of cumin powder and 2 tsp of coriander powder to the chicken and mix well.

Finally, add a generous amount of freshly chopped coriander leaves and toss gently.
