Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough back into the bowl, cover with cling wrap, and let it rise until doubled in size for 60 minutes in a warm place.

Lightly flour the top of the dough and flatten it into a rectangular shape.
Roll the dough to a thickness of 10 mm (just under half an inch).
Use a dough scraper to cut the dough into six to eight pieces.
Place the pieces in a lightly floured pan, cover, and allow to rise for 20 minutes in a warm place.
Heat the barbecue to medium heat and oil the grill.
Grill the buns for 5 to 6 minutes per side, checking for even cooking due to varying grill temperatures.
Remove the buns from the grill and serve hot with butter and fillings of your choice.
