Put ground breakfast sausage into a pan over medium heat.
Cook sausage until fully cooked, chopping it down into smaller pieces.
Drain excess oil from the sausage.
Open instant biscuits and place them in the oven at 350°F.
Season the sausage with black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In the same pan with the sausage, add half a stick of butter and let it melt.
Add half a cup of flour to the melted butter and cook for about 3 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
Pour in milk while stirring to avoid lumps, using a whisk for better mixing.
Cook the gravy until it thickens, about 5 minutes, adjusting with more milk if it gets too thick.
Season the gravy with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
Add the cooked sausage and any remaining oil to the gravy and mix well.
Taste the gravy and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serve the gravy over the biscuits.
