1/2 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
1/2 cup bourbon whiskey
1/3 cup brown sugar
pinch of cayenne
fresh ground pepper to taste
2 sprigs fresh thyme leaves, optional

Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
