Today, it is a beloved accompaniment not just in Britain but also in various international cuisines, showcasing its versatility and appeal.

Citrus juice offers acidity while being more accessible.
Start by heating a pan on the stove.
Add 500 grams of apples with skin to the pan.
Pour in 1 glass of apple cider vinegar.
Add 1/3 cup of soy sauce to the mixture.
Include 2 medium onions, 2-3 inches of ginger, black pepper, white salt, and garam masala.
Add 200 grams of jaggery to the pan.
Stir the mixture with a spoon to combine all ingredients.
Cook on low-medium flame for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
After 1 hour, check the mixture; it should have thickened and the skins should be soft.
Use an electric mixer to blend the mixture until smooth.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of ground fennel to the blended sauce and stir well.
If desired, strain the sauce using a large strainer to remove pulp and skins.
Allow the sauce to cool before storing it in an airtight jar or bottle.
