Heat a large fry pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30 milliliters).

After heating the olive oil for 2 minutes, add 3 cups of broccoli florets (525 grams) and mix to coat each floret in the oil.

Place the broccoli florets in a single layer and sauté for 2 minutes per side to achieve a crusty sear.

After about 4 minutes, remove the broccoli from the pan and season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

In the same pan, add another 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30 milliliters), 1/2 finely diced onion, 1 roughly chopped red bell pepper, and 5 roughly chopped garlic cloves.

Mix the vegetables continuously for about 4 minutes until the onion is translucent and the other vegetables are lightly sautéed.

Season the vegetables with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, then add 2.5 cups of vegetable broth (595 milliliters).
