In a bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
Add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to the flour.
Add 1 tablespoon of baking powder to the mixture.
Cut in 1/2 cup of unsalted butter into the flour mixture until it resembles pea-sized pieces.
Add 1 cup of buttermilk and 1 egg to the mixture and stir with a spatula.
Eyeball and add fresh cranberries to the mixture, using about half of the container.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Scoop the mixture onto a baking sheet, making about 6 large scones.
Sprinkle the tops of the scones with granulated sugar.
Bake in the preheated oven at 375°F for an unspecified time.
