Black Forest Ham, or Schwarzwälder Schinken, hails from the Black Forest region of Germany. This iconic cured ham is renowned for its rich flavor and smoky aroma, achieved through a unique curing and smoking process. Traditionally enjoyed during festive occasions and as part of hearty meals, it has gained popularity worldwide, often featured in charcuterie boards and sandwiches.

Preheat the oven to 180-200 degrees Celsius.
Season the schnitzels with salt and pepper.
Wrap each schnitzel with 2-4 slices of Schwarzwälder-Schinken.
Layer 2-4 slices of tomatoes on top of the schnitzels.
Add cheese on top of the tomatoes.
Sprinkle minced garlic over the cheese.
Drizzle with some red juice and add thyme.
Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and slightly baked.
Serve with a side of field salad with red onions.
