This dish is often enjoyed in bars and restaurants, highlighting the simple yet bold flavors of garlic and fresh herbs. Today, variations can be found globally, with mushrooms sautéed in various styles and seasonings, making it a versatile dish for any occasion.

Clean 450g/1 lb mushrooms by wiping off dirt with a damp kitchen towel or giving them a quick rinse and wiping away excess water immediately.
Trim the stalk of the mushrooms and reserve for stock or add to this recipe.
Mince 6 cloves of garlic.
Finely chop parsley or preferred herb for garnish.
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil on high flame in a skillet.
Add the mushrooms to the skillet, ensuring all mushrooms are in contact with the pan to prevent steaming.
After 1-2 minutes, check if the mushrooms have browned and turn them over.
Continue frying until the mushrooms are golden on all sides.
Reduce flame to low and pour in the prepared sauce made of 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp lime/lemon juice, minced garlic, and 1/4 cup water.
Increase flame to medium and let the sauce reduce.
Add 1.5 tbsp unsalted butter and mix well.
Garnish with preferred herb and switch off the flame.
Serve these mushrooms with grilled meat, toast, or an omelette.
