1 can black beans
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp Sofrito Boricua (Cilantro, garlic and onion ground in oil)
1 tbsp Total Seasoning
2 tbsp beef broth
1 tbsp Sazón Goya
Salt to taste

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the Sofrito Boricua and sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the black beans, Total Seasoning, beef broth, Sazón Goya, and salt.

Add the water and bring to a boil.

Once boiling, add the rice and stir well.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed, about 20 minutes.

If using, add achiote for color and flavor before serving.
