Raisins are a cost-effective dried fruit option.

Combine 1/2 cup peanut butter and 1 cup coconut oil in a bowl until soft.

Add 1 1/2 cups frozen grapes and 1 1/2 cups frozen blackberries to the mixture.

Add the birdseed mix to the bowl and stir well with a big spoon.

Melt down 1/2 cup lard and add it to the mixture, then mix everything together until well combined.

Scoop the mixture into little containers, pressing down to firm it up.

Place the containers in the freezer to set, usually overnight but they will set within an hour.

Once solid, pop the suet out of the containers and store them in Ziploc bags.

Take out a suet cake or two as needed.
