Chop 6 onions into fine pieces.
Melt 2.5 to 3 sticks of butter in a pan.
Add the chopped onions to the melted butter.
Add crushed salt and pepper to the onions.
Mince 3 garlic cloves and add them to the pan with the onions.
Sauté the mixture for about 10 to 15 minutes until the onions are soft but not browned.
In a bowl, mix 1 can of cream of chicken soup with 1 cup of milk.
Once the onions are cooked, transfer them to a pan.
Pour the cream and milk mixture over the onions.
Add 2 cups of mozzarella cheese on top of the mixture.
Soak slices of French bread or French baguettes in the butter and onion remnants.
Place the soaked bread, butter side up, on top of the cheese in the pan.
Bake the casserole in the oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
