2 tablespoons fresh dandelion roots
2 cups water
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)

Quantities are estimated based on standard recipes for your convenience. The actual ingredients used in this video are accurate.

1

Harvest dandelion roots from a location that hasn't been treated with herbicides or fertilizers in the last two to three years.

2

Take the harvested roots inside and cut them off below the bulb base.

3

Scrub the roots under running water to remove dirt, using a scrubber for stubborn black spots.

4

Optionally soak the cleaned roots for 30 to 60 minutes.

5

Chop the cleaned roots into pieces about the size of your thumb.

6

Add 8 cups of clean well water to a ceramic or glass pot.

7

Add 1/2 cup of chopped fresh dandelion roots to the pot of water.

8

Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 40 minutes.

9

While the fresh roots are simmering, prepare dried dandelion roots by cutting them into similar-sized pieces.

10

Place the cut dried roots on a dehydration tray and set the dehydrator to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

11

Leave the roots in the dehydrator for several days until completely dried.

12

Optionally break down the dried roots further using a blender, if desired.

13

Store dried roots in a glass or ceramic container or a plastic bag for later use.
