chicken broth

🥗Healthier: homemade vegetable broth

💰Cheaper: water with seasoning

Homemade broth is healthier and can be made from scraps, while water with seasoning is budget-friendly.

1

Start by seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

2

Chop a medium-sized tomato and set aside.

3

Chop 1/3 of an onion and set aside for the meatballs.

4

Add 1 tablespoon of chicken bouillon powder, minced garlic, and 1.5 teaspoons of turmeric to the meat mixture.

5

Add 2 pinches of oregano to the meat mixture.

6

In a large bowl, combine 1.5 lbs of ground beef, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and all the spices.

7

Add 1/2 cup of rice and 2 eggs to the mixture and mix well with gloves.

8

Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.

9

Prepare a large pot with 4.5 liters of water and bring it to a boil.

10

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the meatballs to the pot.

11

Skim off any impurities or fat that rises to the top of the pot.

12

After 20 minutes of cooking the meatballs, add 10-12 oz of baby carrots and 1/2 cabbage to the pot.

13

Add 5 medium potatoes, diced, and 3 stalks of celery to the pot after the carrots and cabbage have cooked for 7 minutes.

14

Finally, add 2 zucchinis to the pot, being careful not to overcook them as they can become mushy.

15

Add 1 tablespoon of tomato bouillon powder, salt, and pepper to taste.

16

Once everything is cooked, add cilantro for garnish before serving.
